Los Tarrales, is a private natural reserve, located in the southeast slope of the Atitlán Volcano. Beautiful casitas next to a big heliconia plantation, with lots of birds around, not to talk of the finger licking food served. You can hike or drive up the slope and enjoy birding, views and the tropical forest. There are horned guans and other rare birds. Birding tours cost about $60 per person.

It is an Ecologic style place with a big camping area and formal rooms; it has a small swimming pool, some wharfs, bungalows an ample forest area and a pretty bay window to the lake.
